Samsung Exynos 1480
Samsung Exynos 1480 is the company's new mobile processor designed for use in mid-range smartphones. Key features of this chip: CPU performance: Exynos 1480 has an eight-core CPU configuration with four powerful Cortex-A78 cores clocked at up to 2.75 GHz and four energy-efficient Cortex-A55 cores at 2.05 GHz. In the Geekbench 6 benchmark, it scored 1158 in the single-core test and 3485 in the multi-core test, which is noticeably higher than the previous Exynos 1380 in the Galaxy A54. GPU: One of the key features of the Exynos 1480 is the use of the Xclipse 530 GPU, designed on AMD's RDNA 2 architecture. This should provide a significant boost in gaming performance compared to previous Exynos chips. Energy efficiency: Thanks to the use of a 4nm process technology and a new architecture, the Exynos 1480 should provide higher energy efficiency compared to its predecessors. First device: According to rumors, the first smartphone with Exynos 1480 will be the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A55. It should also get a 6.5-inch 120 Hz OLED display, a 50 MP main camera and 25 W charging. Thus, the Exynos 1480 looks like a promising processor for mid-budget Samsung smartphones with improved CPU performance, a significant boost in gaming performance thanks to the AMD GPU, and improved power efficiency.
