AMD Radeon 660M
Radeon 660M in 2026: Old RDNA 2 Graphics Still Used in New Laptops
The Radeon 660M is the integrated GPU used in AMD's budget Rembrandt-generation Ryzen 5 processors. It launched in January 2022 with Ryzen 6000 and later appeared in Ryzen 5 7535HS, Ryzen 5 7535U, Ryzen 5 130, and Ryzen 5 150 chips. In 2026, laptops with this GPU are still sold new for roughly $400-580.
Performance is close to Intel Iris Xe with 96 execution units, at around 1,500 points in 3DMark Time Spy Graphics. Dota 2 and older games run comfortably at 1080p, while demanding titles such as Cyberpunk 2077 and Baldur's Gate 3 deliver roughly 20 fps at 1080p Low without upscaling. Laptop configuration matters significantly because the 660M relies entirely on system memory bandwidth.
What's Inside and Where It Came From
The Rembrandt die is built on TSMC's 6nm process and contains 12 RDNA 2 compute units. Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 9 versions enable all 12 as the Radeon 680M. Most Ryzen 5 models use six compute units, or 384 stream processors, at up to 1.9 GHz. The Radeon 660M therefore reaches a theoretical throughput of about 1.46 TFLOPS.
The GPU has no dedicated memory and uses system RAM, typically DDR5-4800 or LPDDR5-6400. Hardware ray tracing is supported, but the available GPU performance is too low for ray tracing to be practical in modern games.
The Radeon 660M has appeared across several processor generations:
- 2022: Ryzen 5 6600U, 6600H, 6600HS, and PRO 6650U/H/HS
- 2023: Ryzen 5 7535U, 7535HS, and 7533HS
- 2025: Ryzen 5 130 and Ryzen 5 150
Most of these processors use the same six-CU Radeon 660M running at up to 1.9 GHz. The Ryzen 3 7335U and Ryzen 3 110 are exceptions: their GPUs are also called Radeon 660M but use four compute units at up to 1.8 GHz.
Neighboring Ryzen models can be easy to confuse. The Ryzen 5 7530U differs from the 7535U by only one digit in its name, but it uses older Zen 3 hardware with Radeon Vega 7 graphics. The Ryzen 5 7520U is based on a different platform and includes the much smaller Radeon 610M with two compute units.
Benchmark Performance
Radeon 660M laptops average around 1,450 points in 3DMark Time Spy Graphics, 4,575 in Fire Strike Graphics, and 230 in Steel Nomad. The Time Spy median is approximately 1,535 points, while individual laptops vary considerably depending on memory configuration and platform settings.
In Time Spy Graphics, the 660M performs close to Intel Iris Xe G7 96EU and the newer Radeon 840M. The mobile GeForce GTX 1050 remains roughly 15% faster, while the 48-EU Intel UHD Graphics used in processors such as the Core i5-13420H is around one-third slower.
In Steel Nomad, the difference between AMD's integrated GPUs is larger:

The difference between the lowest and highest Time Spy results is 56%. The ThinkPad L14 G5 is the clear outlier at 1,016 points. Its tested configuration uses a single 16 GB DDR5-4800 module, while the faster systems provide substantially more memory bandwidth. For an integrated GPU such as the 660M, memory configuration is an important performance constraint.
Power limits also affect results, although comparisons between different laptops include other variables such as cooling, memory, and firmware. The ASUS ExpertBook B1 operates at 15 W and trails the middle of the table by roughly 17-18%.
Above roughly 25 W, these results show little additional graphics performance. The Ninkear S14 at 25 W and ThinkPad E16 Gen 2 at 30 W differ by only 3%, while the GMK NucBox M6 mini PC with a Ryzen 5 6600H running at 50 W scores around 1,582 points.
The ThinkPad Z13 also shows that a relatively modest 22.5 W sustained limit can still produce a strong result when paired with LPDDR5-6400 memory.
Steel Nomad results require some caution because different graphics APIs can produce different scores. Three DirectX 12 results fall between 219 and 256 points, while the Chuwi CoreBook Air records 184 points using Vulkan.
What It Can Play
The following results come from the Chuwi CoreBook Air at 1080p. Its Ryzen 5 6600H operates at a 28 W sustained limit and uses 16 GB of LPDDR5-6400 memory. Its Time Spy result is close to the Radeon 660M median.

| Strange Brigade | medium / ultra | 40 / 27 |
| GTA V | high | 37 |
| X-Plane 11 | high | 28 |
| The Witcher 3 | high | 27 |
| Final Fantasy XV | standard | 23 |
| Baldur's Gate 3 | low | 22 |
| Cyberpunk 2077 | low / medium, no FSR | 21 / 15 |
Esports titles and older games can run at 1080p with medium or high settings. More demanding games such as Baldur's Gate 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 fall to roughly 20 fps at 1080p Low, making lower rendering resolutions or FSR necessary for smoother gameplay.
At 720p, lighter titles such as Dota 2 and Strange Brigade can exceed 100 fps, although image sharpness is noticeably lower on a 1920×1200 display.
The GPU includes hardware decoding for H.264, HEVC, VP9, and AV1, which keeps CPU usage low during high-resolution video playback. Hardware AV1 encoding is not supported and arrived later with RDNA 3.
